FAQs

We couldn’t have helped over 100 clients without answering a few questions along the way. Take a look below to see some of the most common questions or you can contact us.

What is your process for business plans?

We start with a survey. Then, there is an optional interview to add a bit of color. We then use industry-standard tools such as IBISWorld to create the industry and market analysis. To get going with the financials, you start off with our custom template. We then send a first draft for approval. At the end, we do a final draft.

How do you support BIPOC and LGBTQ2S?

We support BIPOC and LGBTQ2S by offering discounted services. In particular, we have a track record in doing services for African American-owned businesses across the US as well as working for organizations in Africa, the Middle East and beyond. If you identify, please let us know in the contact form.

Does your firm do graphic design?

We are strategists and writers, but not graphic designers. We have connections with graphic designers at many different investment levels if that service is needed, that we can make available to you.

Do you outsource your work?

If we have overflow, we have a waiting list. If there is a service such as graphic design, we may work with another vendor, in a transparent way. For the most part, we do all services in-house.

Do you consistently have a waiting list?

We typically have a waiting list during the busiest times of year: January-February and September-October. During other times of year, work can start immediately.

How do payment terms work?

Typically we ask for 50% upfront. If that is not comfortable, we can put money in escrow through Upwork.

Do you work outside of Canada?

Yes. We have done immigration business plans for the US, Canada and the UK.

Is there such a thing as a business that is too small?

Our services start at $500, which can be a big investment. At the same time, we have done dozens of business plans for work-from-home businesses, small retail, and start-ups.
